The Fourth Summit: Geroscience for the Next Generation

Jamaine Davis

Dr. Jamaine Davis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, Cancer Biology and Neuroscience at Meharry Medical College. The primary focus of Dr. Davis’ work is to understand the molecular basis of aging and age-related diseases. Dr. Davis’ research is at the intersection of genetics of disease, health disparities and structural biology. With the ability to sequence our genomes, we have learned that our DNA can have changes, often called variants. Dr. Davis’s lab seeks to answer the question, why do some people that carry genetic variants develop disease. Dr. Davis’ work seeks to discover how genetic variants influence cellular pathways that lead to diseases, such as cancer and Alzheimer’s.
