A national leader in the dementia care research field, Dr. Gilmore-Bykovskyi was selected to Co-Chair the NIA/NIH 2023 National Dementia Care and Caregiving Research Summit. Dr. Gilmore-Bykovskyi has led advances in Alzheimer’s disease-focused health services research that have stewarded new areas of investigation surrounding dementia-specific care delivery patterns and outcomes of importance to people living with dementia and their caregivers. She is currently leading the first longitudinal observational study to examine episodes of paradoxical lucidity in people living with advanced dementia near end of life. Across these research activities, she is committed to engaging with community and clinician partners and working directly with people living with dementia and caregivers to fully integrate their perspectives and experiences into the research process and results.
