Christiane Voufo


Christiane Voufo is a neuroscientist with research interest in girl education in the Africa region, access to quality STEM education in secondary and higher education, and digital skill development. Christiane holds a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California, Berkeley’s Helen Wills Neuroscience Institute. As a WBG-Education Africa Fellow, she is working with the EdTech team to conduct research on resilient hybrid learning system toolkits and African Women in EdTech. In addition to this, Christiane will also be working on various projects related to building STEM programs for secondary education in Africa. During her PhD, Christiane’s research focused on characterizing spontaneous activity in developing neural systems and defining the circuits involved in their generation. She plans to use her skills in data analysis, scientific research, and statistics to help develop STEM education programs for girls and women in Africa.
