Malik\u00a0is a\u00a0third-year graduate student in Oral Health Sciences\/Pediatric Dentistry dual degree program\u00a0at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry\u00a0(UMSOD). Malika holds a\u00a0bachelor\u2019s in\u00a0Environmental\u00a0Science\u00a0and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the University of Michigan. Her current research focuses on the characterization of dental pulp stem cells for regenerative endodontics in\u00a0adolescents. As a translational scientist\u00a0her work aims to\u00a0develop clinical acceptable\u00a0protocols for stem\u00a0cell-based\u00a0therapy.\u00a0Support for\u00a0Malika\u2019s research comes from\u00a0NIH K12\u00a0Clinical Scientist Institutional Career Development Program Award.\u00a0Outside of the lab, Malika enjoys Formula 1, working out, and trying new eateries around Ann Arbor with her\u00a0dog, Rufus.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr.\u00a0Malika\u00a0A.
