Dr. Shoba Thirumangalathu, PhD is an Extramural Training Officer in the Research Training and Career Development Branch of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).  She manages the NIDCR program portfolio of career development awards (K), Loan Repayment Program (LRP) and Diversity supplements.

Dr. Thirumangalathu earned her doctorate in developmental neuroscience from National University of Singapore.  As a graduate student, she received the National Medical Research Council of Singapore’s pre-doctoral fellowship. Dr. Thirumangalathu completed postdoctoral training in development and stem cell biology at the Joslin Diabetes Center. She continued her research training as research fellow and instructor at University of Colorado, where she was independently funded through NIH, NIDCD R03 grant. Dr. Thirumangalathu was the recipient of Association of Chemoreception Sciences, Polak Young Investigator Award.
