Jeffrey M. Venstrom

Jeffrey Venstrom, MD, is a physician-scientist with expertise in oncology, hematology and drug/diagnostic development at Roche / Genentech. Dr. Venstrom has over 18 years of experience leading scientists, clinical staff and cross-functional teams on impactful patient-centered projects. As the Chief Medical Partner, Cross Portfolio in US Medical Affairs, Dr. Venstrom leads the group’s efforts in Health Equities and Inclusive Research, Personalized Healthcare and Digital Health. Prior to this role, Dr. Venstrom was Senior Vice President and Head of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs at Foundation Medicine. Dr. Venstrom joined Roche / Genentech in 2014, when he established the Hematology Biomarker Franchise in Research and Early Development, which he led for 5 years.

Prior to joining Roche / Genentech, Dr. Venstrom was the Krishnamurthi Endowed Chair in Hematologic Malignancies at The University of California San Francisco from 2010-2014. Dr. Venstrom trained in medical oncology and internal medicine, including 1 year of research training at the NIH / NIDDK. He completed clinical and postgraduate research training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where he focused on translational research in cancer immunology. He received his medical degree and bachelor’s degree of science from Vanderbilt University.
