Dr. Marcos J. Ramos-Benitez, PhD is an Assistant Professor and the principal investigator of the Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis Laboratory at Ponce Health Sciences University in Puerto Rico. His research primarily focuses on neutrophil responses, aiming to translate these findings into novel therapeutic approaches to improve patient outcomes. Utilizing a reverse translation approach, Dr. Ramos-Benitez’s work seeks to inform clinical practice and patient care across various diseases, including rare diseases, asthma, dengue fever, and COVID-19. Beyond his research, he is deeply committed to his community as the founder and president of Ciencia en tus Manos Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing STEM education within Hispanic communities.
