Dr. Dominique M. Rose is a Research Scientist at Abigail Wexner Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, in the Center for Injury Research and Policy (CIRP), working with Dr. Ginger Yang. She received her MPH and Ph.D. in Public Health and Health Education from Southern Illinois University in 2019. Her post-doctoral training was completed at Case Western Reserve University under the auspices of the Ruth L. Kirstein National Research Service Award focusing on Promoting Diversity in Health-Related Research. Her background is in community engaged research with a focus on health equity. Her research seeks to understand the intersection of race/ethnicity, socioeconomic disparities, and teen driving safety using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies. She is a recipient of the Research Supplements to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research where she is investigating the intersection between racial and SES differences in parent-teen communication about safe driving and conducted qualitative interviews with parents to better understand the barriers and facilitators to participation in intervention studies. Her long term research goal is to become an independent researcher in an academic setting, developing equity focused interventions to reduce disparities in crash related injuries and deaths among teens.
