Jian Kong
Dr. Jian Kong is an associate Professor at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH), Harvard Medical School. His research interests focus on pain perception and modulation; placebo and nocebo effect, the brain pathophysiology of disorders such as chronic pain disorders (Fibromyalgia, chronic low back pain, migraine), depression, cognitive decline and autism; and how non-pharmacological treatments (such as acupuncture, mind-body interventions and imagery) can modulate brain circuitry in these disorders using multidisciplinary brain imaging tools. In recent years, he became interested in applying peripheral and central neuromodulation tools to treat different disorders such as depression and Autism. He has published approximately 170 peer-reviewed articles in the referenced fields.
